LASIK in Seoul: clear vision, often by tomorrow
LASIK is the most widely performed laser vision correction in the world. A thin corneal flap is created, the cornea is reshaped with an excimer laser and the flap is laid back. Recovery is fast and comfort returns quickly.
How LASIK works
First, a femtosecond laser creates a very thin flap on the surface of the cornea. The surgeon folds it back and an excimer laser reshapes the tissue underneath according to your prescription.
The flap is then returned to position, where it adheres naturally without stitches. Because the surface layer heals quickly, most patients notice a dramatic improvement within hours.
LASIK can treat hyperopia (long-sightedness) as well as myopia and astigmatism, which makes it the right choice for some patients who are not candidates for SMILE.

Does LASIK hurt?
Numbing drops make the procedure comfortable. You may feel pressure; mild irritation afterwards usually fades within hours.
Is the result permanent?
LASIK permanently reshapes the cornea. Age-related changes such as presbyopia can still occur later in life.
Can I have LASIK if I have astigmatism?
Yes, LASIK treats astigmatism along with myopia or hyperopia.
LASIK or SMILE?
LASIK covers a wider range including hyperopia and has the fastest comfort; SMILE avoids a flap. Your surgeon recommends based on your tests.
