Best Facelift Clinics in Korea (2026): 8 Seoul Clinics Compared

Who operates, which facelift techniques each clinic offers, where they are, what a facelift costs in 2026 and how long to stay in Seoul.

Quick answer

Eight Seoul clinics worth comparing for a facelift in 2026 are Grand, Willbe, Banobagi, Ilchi, 345, WooA, UE and Yuno Plastic Surgery. All are led by board-certified plastic surgeons in Gangnam or Seocho. A full surgical facelift in Seoul is commonly listed at about ₩5.5–13 million (≈ US$4,100–9,700), and most international patients stay 10–14 days.

Korea treated 2,011,822 foreign patients in 2025, and about 233,000 of them came for plastic surgery. Most facelift patients end up in a small stretch of Seoul between Sinsa, Apgujeong, Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam stations, where hundreds of clinics compete. This guide narrows that down to eight clinics and gives you the facts you need to compare them: who operates, which facelift techniques each offers, where they are, what a facelift costs in 2026 and how long to plan for recovery.

Anesthesiologist on site, ETCO2 monitoring, dantrolene stocked for malignant hyperthermia, backup power, and a room where a guardian can watch the surgery.
International

Grand built its facelift line around the deep plane technique. Its full deep plane facelift takes about four hours under general anesthesia, and patients usually go home the same day. A shorter deep plane mini lift (two to three hours) is also available. The clinic publishes a detailed anesthesia safety protocol, which matters for a long operation under general anesthesia.

Good fit if you want a deep plane lift and put anesthesia safety high on your list. Ask at consultation which surgeon will operate on you, because the clinic does not name a single facelift lead. Older directories still show Grand's former tower on Dosan-daero, so confirm the address before you go.

2. Willbe Plastic Surgery (윌비성형외과)

Location
5F, Mihye Building, 590 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu. Within 200 m of Sinsa Station, Exit 3.
Since
2023
Surgeon
Dr. Kim Jun-young (김준영), representative director and board-certified plastic surgeon. He is the clinic's only surgeon.
Facelift menu
SMAS facelift (안면거상), mini lift, endoscopic forehead lift, thread lift, PRP micro fat grafting, double-chin liposuction with muscle tightening.
International
Consultations in English with the surgeon.

Willbe is a one-surgeon clinic: the same doctor handles your consultation, surgical design, operation and aftercare. Its facelift lifts the skin together with the SMAS layer beneath it, and the clinic also performs endoscopic forehead lifts and a minimal-incision mini lift. Dr. Kim also performs eyelid and revision eye surgery, so Willbe suits patients who want to treat the upper face and the lower face in one plan.

Good fit if you value continuity with one surgeon, or you want to combine a forehead or eyelid procedure with a facelift.

3. Banobagi Plastic Surgery (바노바기성형외과)

Location
Banobagi Building, 517 Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu (Yeoksam-dong). About 100 m from Yeoksam Station (Line 2), Exit 6.
Since
2000 (renamed Banobagi in 2007)

Safety
Board-certified anesthesiologists on site; real-name surgeon system (the surgeon you meet is the one who operates).
International
Interpreters in 8 languages; international department since 2013; reports foreign-patient registration since 2009.

Banobagi is one of the best-known large clinics in Gangnam and runs a dedicated facelift team inside its own multi-floor building. Its lower face lift tightens the SMAS through incisions around the ear, takes about two hours, and stitches come out after 7–10 days. For the cheeks and under-eye hollows it uses an Endotine mid-face lift, and it offers an ultrasound-guided “circle lift” that places a permanent thread along the SMAS for patients not ready for surgery.

Good fit if you prefer a large, long-established hospital with several facelift surgeons, in-house anesthesiologists and full interpreter support.

4. Ilchi Plastic Surgery (일치성형외과)

Location
3F, Glaston Building, 108 Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu. About 10 m from Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9), Exit 4.
Surgeon
Dr. Moon Hyung-suk (문형석), representative director; board-certified plastic surgeon since 2013, trained at Kyung Hee University Medical Center, where he is an outside professor. Member of KSPRS, KSAPS, ASPS (international) and ISAPS.
Facelift menu
Full Facelift & Neck Lift (SMAS with retaining-ligament release), Ponytail Lift (endoscopic, minimal incision), Midface Lift (Endotine with lower eyelid), Temple Lift, Elasticum Lift, Endotine forehead lift, PRP fat grafting.
Aftercare
One-year aftercare guarantee on facelift surgery.
International
Separate English, Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Russian websites.

Ilchi is a lifting-focused clinic: most of its menu is facelift, neck lift and related aging surgery. Its signature is the ponytail lift, an endoscopic lift done through small incisions hidden in the hair that lifts the SMAS and releases the retaining ligaments. For heavier sagging, the full facelift and neck lift address the jowls, jawline and neck together. Dr. Moon previously worked as a director at several Gangnam clinics before opening Ilchi.

Good fit if you have early-to-moderate sagging and want a minimal-incision endoscopic lift, or you want a surgeon whose practice centers on lifting.

5. 345 Plastic Surgery (삼사오성형외과)

Location
3F, 4F and 7F, Eunsung Building, 116 Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu. About a 1-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9), Exit 4.
Surgeons
Co-directors Dr. Han Kyu-nam (한규남), board-certified plastic surgeon trained at Seoul National University Hospital, formerly a director at Banobagi and a member of the KSPRS anti-aging research group, who leads the soft-tissue and lifting side; and Dr. Park Jong-lim (박종림), board-certified, former chief of plastic surgery at the National Cancer Center, who leads bone contouring.
Facelift menu
Full Facelift (SMAS, about 2 hours under sedation, same-day discharge), Mini SMAS Lifting, SMAS Volume Lifting with fat grafting, One-Day Plus-Minus Lifting, Jaw Line Lifting, Submental Corset Platysmaplasty (neck), lifting combined with cheekbone reduction.
Safety
Three anesthesiology specialists on staff; backup power, dantrolene and defibrillator on site.
International
Websites in English, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Mongolian and Indonesian.

345 is known first for facial contouring, and that is exactly why it belongs on a facelift list: many patients want their jawline or cheekbones refined at the same time as a lift, or need a lift after earlier contouring surgery. The clinic pairs a bone specialist and a soft-tissue specialist in a joint consultation. Its full facelift lifts four layers, from the skin and SMAS down to the retaining ligaments and temporal fascia, through an incision from inside the temple hairline to behind the ear. The One-Day Plus-Minus Lift combines facial liposuction, fat grafting and lifting in a single session.

Good fit if you want lifting combined with jaw or cheekbone contouring, have sagging after previous contouring, or want volume and lift corrected together.

6. WooA Plastic Surgery (우아성형외과)

Location
HM Tower, 492 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu (surgery on 3F–6F). About a 2-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9), Exit 3.

2004 (as Regen Plastic Surgery Apgujeong; renamed WooA in 2019)
Surgeons
Team of board-certified plastic surgeons led by representative director Dr. Kim Woo-jung (김우정), who holds a PhD in plastic surgery from Seoul National University.
Facelift menu

Anesthesiology specialist on site with 1:1 anesthesia care; a dedicated ward and aftercare floor.
International
Interpreters and websites in 7 languages; Seoul medical tourism partner clinic (2018) and Gangnam-gu partner (2022–2024).

WooA runs a branded WOOA Lifting Center inside a multi-floor clinic that also houses a dermatology department, so surgical lifting and skin treatments can be planned in one place. Its neck lift tightens the SMAS through incisions around the ears and the nape hairline, and its Endotine endoscopic lift repositions the forehead, brows and cheeks through small hidden incisions. The clinic is also widely known for breast surgery. Do not confuse it with the similarly named WooAin Plastic Surgery (우아인성형외과).

Good fit if you want a larger multi-surgeon clinic, a neck lift alongside your facelift, or skin treatments in the same building during recovery. Ask which surgeon on the team performs facelifts.

UE opened near Sinsa Station in 2025 and is led by a female plastic surgeon who previously worked at Banobagi. Dr. Lee handles each patient from consultation through surgery and follow-up. The clinic's core operation is a combined facelift and neck lift that tightens the SMAS across the lower face and jawline, with endoscopic forehead and midface lifts for the upper and middle face. A hyperbaric oxygen chamber is available during recovery.

Good fit if you would like a female surgeon, one-to-one continuity, and a clinic directly on top of Sinsa Station.

Yuno sits between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon stations, which is convenient if you are staying in central Gangnam. Its YUNO Facelift lifts the SMAS and releases the retaining ligaments through an incision that runs from the temple hairline around the ear, and most patients go home the same day. The clinic's safety setup is among the most detailed in this list, with two anesthesiology specialists on staff and one-to-one anesthesia monitoring.

Good fit if anesthesia safety is your top priority, or you want a team clinic near Gangnam Station.

Facelift types offered in Korea

Korean clinics use their own brand names, but almost every facelift falls into one of the types below. Knowing which one you are being offered makes clinic quotes easier to compare.

Type What it does Best for
SMAS facelift(안면거상) Lifts and tightens the SMAS, the muscle and fascia layer under the skin, then removes excess skin. Incision from the temple hairline around the ear. Moderate to advanced jowls and lower-face sagging
Deep plane facelift Lifts skin and SMAS together as one layer from beneath, releasing the retaining ligaments so the cheek fat moves up without tension on the skin. Advanced mid- and lower-face sagging, deep smile lines
Mini facelift(미니거상) Shorter incisions at the temple and around the ear with a smaller lift. Early jowls in the late 30s to 40s
Mid-face lift(중안면거상) Repositions cheek tissue through small incisions in the hairline, lower eyelid or mouth, often with an Endotine anchor. Flat cheeks, under-eye hollows, smile lines
Neck lift(목거상) Tightens the platysma neck muscle and removes excess fat and skin, often with the facelift. Neck bands, loose neck skin, blunted jawline
Endoscopic forehead lift(내시경 이마거상) Lifts the brows and forehead through small incisions inside the hairline using a camera. Heavy brows, forehead lines, hooded upper eyelids
Thread lift(실리프팅) Barbed threads lift tissue without a surgical incision. Effects are temporary. Mild laxity or patients who cannot have surgery

A surgical facelift typically lasts around ten years. Dissolvable thread lifts fade much faster: in a study of 160 patients, the lifting effect had faded by six months and was gone by one year.

How much does a facelift cost in Korea in 2026?

Short answer

A full surgical facelift in Seoul is commonly listed at ₩5.5–13 million (≈ US$4,100–9,700) including VAT. A mini facelift is about ₩1–5.5 million (≈ US$730–4,100) and an endoscopic forehead lift about ₩2.2–4.1 million (≈ US$1,600–3,000). In the US, the surgeon's fee alone for a facelift was US$12,000–19,000 in 2024.

Procedure Listed price in Seoul (KRW, VAT incl.) Approx. USD
Full facelift (SMAS) ₩5,500,000 – ₩13,000,000 $4,100 – $9,700
Facelift + neck lift up to about ₩18,000,000 up to about $13,400
Deep plane facelift usually quoted individually $8,500 – $18,000 (international booking sites)
Mini facelift ₩979,000 – ₩5,500,000 $730 – $4,100
Endoscopic forehead lift ₩2,200,000 – ₩4,070,000 $1,600 – $3,000

Ranges come from clinic-entered listings on Korean price platforms (Modoodoc, Gangnam Unni), checked October 2026, and include event discounts. USD converted at about ₩1,345 per US$1 (October 16, 2026).

Your final quote depends on the technique (deep plane costs more than a standard SMAS lift), whether a neck lift or fat grafting is added, the type of anesthesia and the surgeon's experience. Ask every clinic for a written quote that lists anesthesia, aftercare visits, compression garments and medication.

VAT refund update: Korea's 10% VAT refund for foreign patients on cosmetic surgery ended on December 31, 2025. Bills to restore it were filed in 2026 but had not passed as of October 2026, so budget for the full price including VAT.

Facelift recovery timeline and how long to stay in Seoul

Short answer

Plan to stay in Korea for 10–14 days after a facelift. Stitches usually come out around day 7, and plastic surgeons advise waiting 7–10 days before a long flight after facial surgery.

Time after surgery What to expect
Day 0–1 Most patients go home the same day. Drains and dressings are usually removed the next day.
Days 2–4 Swelling and bruising peak. Sleep with your head raised and take prescribed medication.
Days 5–7 Most patients stop prescription painkillers. Stitches usually come out around day 7.
Days 7–14 Bruising fades and short walks are fine. Earliest sensible time to fly home.
Week 2–3 Many patients return to desk work. No strenuous exercise until about week 3.
3 months to 1 year Final shape settles. Mild numbness or tightness can take up to a year to resolve fully.

How to choose a facelift clinic in Korea: 7 checks

  1. Confirm the surgeon is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Search the surgeon's name in the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS) specialist directory, which lists the country's roughly 2,900 certified plastic surgeons. A sign that reads “OO의원, 진료과목: 성형외과” can belong to a non-specialist; “OO성형외과의원” is reserved for clinics run by one.
  2. Ask who will operate. Choose a clinic with a real-name surgeon policy, so the doctor you meet is the doctor who operates.
  3. Check foreign-patient registration. Clinics that treat international patients must register with the Ministry of Health and Welfare. You can search the official list on Medical Korea (medicalkorea.or.kr), which held 4,412 registered institutions in October 2026. Registration requires malpractice insurance.
  4. Ask about anesthesia. Find out whether an anesthesiology specialist is present for the whole operation, and whether you will have sedation or general anesthesia.
  5. Match the technique to your aging. A mini lift or thread lift will not fix heavy jowls or neck bands. Ask why a clinic recommends a specific technique for your face.
  6. Get an itemized written quote. Compare like for like: technique, neck lift, fat grafting, anesthesia, follow-up visits and medication.
  7. Plan aftercare before you book. Confirm stitch removal dates, how to reach the clinic after you fly home, and the clinic's revision policy.

If something goes wrong, foreign patients can contact the Medical Korea Support Center (1577-7129) for interpretation and complaints, and the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency (K-medi), which offers free counseling in English.

Frequently asked questions

Which are the best facelift clinics in Korea?

Grand, Willbe, Banobagi, Ilchi, 345, WooA, UE and Yuno Plastic Surgery in Seoul are all led by board-certified plastic surgeons and perform surgical facelifts. Grand focuses on deep plane lifts, Banobagi has a multi-surgeon facelift team, Ilchi specializes in endoscopic lifting, 345 combines lifting with facial contouring, WooA runs a dedicated lifting center, UE is led by a female surgeon, and Yuno has two in-house anesthesiologists. The best choice depends on your degree of sagging and the technique you need.

How much does a facelift cost in Korea?

In 2026, a full surgical facelift in Seoul is commonly listed at ₩5.5–13 million (about US$4,100–9,700) including VAT. A mini facelift costs about ₩1–5.5 million and a facelift combined with a neck lift can reach about ₩18 million. Deep plane facelifts are usually quoted individually.

Is a facelift cheaper in Korea than in the US?

Usually, yes. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports a US surgeon's fee of US$12,000–19,000 for a facelift in 2024, before anesthesia and operating-room costs. Seoul listings for a full facelift, which often include anesthesia and aftercare, start at about US$4,100. Add flights and 10–14 nights of accommodation when comparing.

How long should I stay in Korea after a facelift?

Plan for 10–14 days. Stitches typically come out around day 7, and plastic surgery societies advise waiting 7–10 days before flying after facial surgery because of the risk of blood clots. Many patients return to desk work after about two weeks.

What is the difference between a deep plane facelift and a SMAS facelift?

A SMAS facelift tightens the muscle and fascia layer under the skin separately from the skin. A deep plane facelift lifts the skin and SMAS together as one layer and releases the retaining ligaments, which moves the cheek fat higher and reduces tension on the skin. Deep plane is often recommended for more advanced mid-face sagging and usually costs more.

Is a mini facelift or thread lift enough?

A mini facelift suits early jowls and mild lower-face sagging, usually in the late 30s to 40s. Thread lifts are temporary; a study of dissolvable barbed threads found the effect had faded by six months. For heavy jowls, deep smile lines or neck bands, a full SMAS or deep plane facelift with a neck lift gives a longer-lasting result.

How do I check that a Korean surgeon is board-certified?

Search the surgeon's name in the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS) specialist directory at plasticsurgery.or.kr. In Korea, only a clinic run by a plastic surgery specialist may include “성형외과” in its official name, such as “OO성형외과의원”.

Can foreign patients still get a VAT refund on a facelift in Korea?

No. The 10% VAT refund for foreign patients on cosmetic procedures ended on December 31, 2025. Bills to bring it back were introduced in 2026 but had not passed as of October 2026.

Do Korean facelift clinics speak English?

Most clinics that treat international patients have English-speaking coordinators or interpreters. Banobagi offers interpreters in eight languages, Grand runs websites in nine languages, Willbe's surgeon consults in English, and Yuno accepts consultations on WhatsApp.

How do I get a free facelift consultation in Korea?
